Ashton's Gift (Blood Drive)

Ashton Sandifer can run. When the 11 year old softball player puts her foot in the dirt, she really goes. She is a really good and fast little player. In June something seemed wrong. Ashton would get winded playing soft ball and later she had trouble swallowing while trying to eat. Her parents rushed her to the hospital. Tests revealed a devastating diagnosis: T-cell lymphoma. Her tumor was in her chest and extending into her throat and pushing on her esophagus. Her first miracle was her ability to be breathing considering the size of the mass and its location. Ashton has completed four months of intense chemotherapy via port, pil and shots. All this had very intense effects on her little body and her blood cells. Ashton has received steady transfusion of packed red blood cells and platelets to fight the cancer and will continue as she once again starts a new stage of chemo. More Blood will be needed for Ashton in her continued fight against this cancer. Please be on Ashton's team and donate blood. Donors at this drive will receive a limited edition "Happy Y'allidays" t-shirt. Can we count on you? Appointments are preferred but walkin-ins are welcome.
